Marisa Alcalá, lay midwife (Spain)
Workshop 2, Workshop 3: Traditional care, practical tips Marisa Alcalá is very appreciated by Czech doulas and midwives, as for several years, she has been invited to lead practical workshops in the Czech Republic. Many doulas and midwives use her tips for healing with medicinal herbs and clay with success. We are sure you will love her for her wisdom and gentlness, too. Marisa says she is a midwife by destiny already for more than 40 years. She is dedicated to assisting women at births and helping mothers and babies during pregnancy and postpartum, as well as teaching doulas and future midwives. In her small bag there are natural products such as clay and medicinal herbs. She is a self-taught midwife and she takes over the tradition of obstetrics from the hands of traditional grandmothers who have handed this art from generation to generation. Books from authors like Consuelo Ruiz, Michel Odent, Frederic Leboyer, and Casilda Rodriguez have served as Marisa´s guide during her studies. Besides two workshops that Marisa will facilitate during the EDN meeting, there will be a special two days workshop with her following just after the EDN meeting, held in Spanish and English. During this workshop Marisa will develop all the subjects you are interested in about traditional midwife and doula care. For more information please contact Kataka at [email protected]. |
